Anthony Marchese : PC Fitness

Welcome To My Homepage

The guy in the photo is Anthony Marchese, better known to the online community since 1998 as PC Fitness. I chose PC Fitness as my gamer tag and to represent and promote what I do for a living.

Bio

Born on Long Island, N.Y in 1967, I knew at a very young age Health and Fitness would be in my future. Soon to follow was my strong interest in Technology.

- Technology began at age 13 and my career in Technology began in 1993. "PC"
- Health and Fitness began at age 12 and my career in Health and Fitness began in 1987. "Fitness"

As of 3/17/2009, based on my research, I am the only person on the web who is promoting himself as a PC and a Fitness person hence the name PC Fitness. There are a few other PC Fitness outfits on-line, but none promote the name in the same manner.

A little History

In 1980 got an Apple computer, It was the "Apple ll", I was 13. I remember coming home from school and playing games until bedtime. Off and on for the next ten years I continued to play with computers, electronics, home theaters and other types of technology. I was the guy his friends called when they had questions about various technologies. It wasn't until 1993 when I decided to buy a PC - aka - Personal Computer / IBM, It was a Gateway 2000.

I went to school for 2 years where I studied computer hardware and network administration. A few years later I received the A+ certification. My plan was to study for the MCSE, MCSA, MCDST, MCITP and MCP+ networking and I did bury myself in this for several months, until a close friend / network engineer who has zero certifications was making close to $200,000 a year spoke to me about his schooling, it was the school of hard knocks, nothing but hands on education. Sounds crazy, but hands on experience is education anyone can get in this industry. Something told me this guy knew what he was talking about, especially after seeing one of his pay stubs. I ended up following in the same foot steps and lucky for me it worked out.

Note: To all you youngsters out there, an MCSE certification or any other can make your resume look impressive and is a nice addition, but without "hands on experience" it will only take you so far in the real world. It doesn't matter how many books you've read, theory will only get you so far. In the computer support business you need to get your hands dirty, there's no other way around it. But don't let these words talk you out of going to school. I'm one of the few who happen to have a mind for business, I always have, not everyone does.

I got hired as a network administrator assistant where I was taught the tricks of the trade. As I became more knowledgeable I wanted to make more money. I apply for higher paying jobs to find out where I was in the salary bracket. It was when I started to get contract offers for almost twice what I was currently making at the time. Finally, the last company I worked for in 2000, I was hired as a top level Systems Analyst for a media supply company located in Coral Springs, FL. About one year later they pink slipped over 150 people, I was one. Good thing I never stopped advertising and marketing the little part time computer business I started many years prior to the pink slip. Because immediately I ended up going into business for myself full time and slowly hiring field technicians along the way. The lay off in 2000 turned out to be the best thing that happened to my career, needless to say I haven't looked back since.

Health and Fitness

Certified through I.F.P.A have certifications in Personal Training, Sports Nutrition, Sports Stretching and Strength Training For Seniors. My addiction for Health and Fitness began at age 12. My knowledge of Health and Fitness snowballed into a career by 20. Since 1987 I've trained thousands people in the privacy of their homes as well as public fitness facilities from Long Island, N.Y to South Florida. I've helped motivate people of all ages reach their Health and Fitness goals in both one on one training and groups. The most of my clients want to lose weight and tone up, while others want to pack on thick muscle mass.

To be a good Fitness Trainer you need to be intuitive with your clients. To my clients I am a friend, a motivational workout partner and health and fitness resource they can count on for support long after their sessions are through.
