eMusic is misleading and in my opinion a ripoff.
Here's why,
#1. I selected the wrong service plan by accident. So I called eMusic's customer support to see if I could get an adjustment. In short, they said the cannot give refunds and they cannot give me the smaller less expensive plan that I originally wanted. As far as I'm concerned, this is an extremely cheesy way to do business.
#2. Misleading, well, they say they have a over 4,000,000 tracks, which I don't doubt. The problem is most of it I never heard of. Ok, you could say, maybe my music history is not very in depth, not the case here. I'm not claiming to be the know all end all of music but, I was born in 1967, mom and dad took me to woodstock in 1969. Throughout 70's and 80's the radio was always on. I played drums for a short time, sang in school choir. Then there was TV, MTV / VH1 / American bandstand / Soul Train. I love music!!! So when an online music service can't come close to sticking more than a few artists in there that I am familiar with. It's quite mind blowing to me.
#3. So if you don't care about major labels, off beat artists and indie music then this is the site for you. See I happen to like AC/DC, Bad Company, Match Box 20, The Beatles, Boston, Chicago, Def Leopard, Dream Theater, Eddie Money, ELO, Foreigner, Madonna, Led Zepplin. I think you get the picture. If you think I'm kidding go ahead and sign up.
#4. To top it off, I post how I am feeling about their service in their public forums and I get beat up by all them..lol Seriously, an experience that I would not wish on my worst enemy.
