If you want to lose weight successfully, then muscles
are a must.
If
you want attractive curves, definition and lean muscle
as opposed to a flabby un-tone body then you need
to use weights.
I'm
not talking about bulk, I'm talking about good body
definition and strength, a firm, well-toned physique.
Most
women are afraid of using weights for fear of ending
up too muscular, but the truth is, it is very difficult
for women to look muscular. You have to be either
genetically gited or a genetic freak as well as lift
weights every day and take steroids. It isn't even
easy for most men to create bulk.
How
well defined and toned you look depends on how much
body fat you carry, the less body fat you have, the
more definition you will carve into your body, and
the sexier your muscles will look.
How
will muscle make you lose weight? Simple, muscle is
solid, it uses up a lot of fuel to sustain itself,
and one of the fuels it uses is body fat. Muscle is
an active tissue which blasts your metabolism, and
increases fat-burning even when you rest. The more
muscle you have the more fat you will burn. It's as
simple as that.
Muscle tone is achieved when you use
weights or work your body harder than it is used to.
If you combine the use of weights with aerobic or
any activity that makes you mildly out of breath,
such as walking, cycling or swimming, you will get
results dramatically quicker than if you just did
aerobic exercise.
The
good news is that you only need to use weights approximately
3 times per week, leaving a day in between training
sessions, in order to obtain the best results. When
you work your muscles, they break down into tiny little
micro tears and need 24 hours rest to repair, but
when they do repair they become stronger, allowing
you to become stronger. Use a heavy enough weight
that will tire your muscles out after about 8-12 repetitions
as this will get results quicker. Bear in mind that
some parts of your body will be stronger than others.
Work the muscles until they are tired - but not in
pain.
The good thing about using weights
is that you don't have to spend too much time to get
good results. With weights, it's all about the workload
(quality), not quantity.
So
pick up those weights today - and you'll be amazed
at the results!
